    Plaquenil fatigue

Is anyone taking Plaquenil and if so, do you find it works for fatigue. Should I just bite the bullet and give it a whirl. I should mention that I believe many of my aches and pain is related to the fact that I am obese especially in hips/knees. I imagine this plays a part in how tired I am at times. What I have noticed is that plaquenil seems to be diagnosed when there is ongoing fatigue and/or joint pain. I know that for me, it made a huge difference in terms of fatigue.

This is especially true in those individuals with G6PD deficiency. The drug can also lower blood counts (red cell, white cells and others too) which in turn can cause fatigue.

PLAQUENIL" Rheumatoid Arthritis Community - Support Group Plaquenil takes quite a long time to get to its peak effectiveness depending on what you read, anywhere from 3 months to a year. Unless you are having significant side effects, try to give it at least 6 months before you decide it doesn't work for you.
